
Sugar Land Takes Series Finale with 11-4 Win

Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
(York, P.A., September 11, 2014) - The Sugar Land Skeeters scored early to sail past the York Revolution in the series finale and take an 11-4 victory. With Lancaster winning as well, Sugar Land remains tied for first in the Freedom Division second half.
David Pauley started on the mound for the Skeeters and pitched 5.0 innings, allowing four runs and issuing five strikeouts. Pauley earned the win in Thursday night's game and is now tied for the league lead with 13.
Travis Scott was walked to begin the first inning and then advanced on a single by Delwyn Young. Ryan Langerhans walked and Scott scored the first run of the game.
Sugar Land started the top of the second with a home run by Todd Jennings that also brought home Michael Rockett. Denny Almonte then hit a double to center field and Scott followed with a single. Young singled and Almonte scored the third run of the inning. Ryan Langerhans hit a single and then advanced to second on an error by the York right fielder, Young made it to third, and Scott scored. Dominic Ramos doubled to right field and went on to third, Langerhans was putout but Young scored. Rene Tosoni came up to bat and doubled to left field, allowing Ramos to score. Tosoni then scored the seventh and final run of the inning on a hit by Rockett.
Bridger Hunt hit a leadoff single to left field in the top of the third. Almonte then made it to first on a fielder's choice and both runners scored after a double by Langerhans. Ramos followed with a double of his own and Langerhans tacked on the final run for the team.
The bullpen took over for Pauley in the sixth inning. The four relief pitchers tossed one inning each and kept York from scoring another run.

Sugar Land heads to Clipper Magazine Stadium to take on Lancaster on Friday, September 12th. Matt Wright is slated to take the mound opposite of Shunsuke Watanabe of the Barnstormers in the 6:00 p.m. CT. game.
