
Sugar Land Loses in Overtime 4-3

On Thursday Night, after taking the first three games of this series including both game of a double-header the night before, the Skeeters looked for the four game series sweep, but it was not meant to be as they lost 4-3 in extra innings. Sugar Land scored three times in the third, highlighted by an Aaron Bates double that drove in two and led 3-1, but the Bluefish chipped away and tied it at 3-3 scoring solo runs in the second, third and fourth. It stayed that way and the game went into extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth with two outs Luis Rodriguez singled home the winning run, as Bridgeport avoids the sweep and win 4-3.
Up Next : On Friday the Skeeters travel to Long Island to take on the Ducks for three games. In Game 1 Sugar Land will send out RHP Scott Elarton (4-4, 4.01) vs. LHP Matt Way (2-4, 4.87) for Long Island.
