Minnesota United FC News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota United today announced it is partnering with StubHub, the largest ticket marketplace in the U.S., to be the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace for the club.
"We are excited to partner with a world-class marketplace like StubHub," said Sean Sittnick, Minnesota United Director of Ticket Sales. "We believe this integration will provide access for new fans while providing a valuable tool for our many season ticket holders."
As the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace for Minnesota United FC, StubHub will provide integrated ticket barcoding through its partnership with Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement for the 2016 NASL season. StubHub will also receive sponsorship and marketing assets within the Minnesota United FC community, which includes more than 4,500 season ticket holders, a number that continues to grow.
"StubHub is committed to investing in the rapidly growing sport of soccer, and we are thrilled to extend our partnerships roster with Minnesota United FC," said Kate Green, Head of Business Development, Sports, StubHub. "With Minnesota being named an MLS expansion team, we could not be more excited to extend our services to their passionate community of fans and be a part of their foundation as they build towards Minnesota's first top division soccer club in 40 years."
Along with leading ticketing solutions provider, Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, the partnership enables barcode integration for ticket holders to seamlessly resell their tickets on StubHub and in turn, provides tickets that are digitally delivered to the buyer. In addition, fans have access to print-at-home tickets and streamlined listings to sell unused tickets.
"We are thrilled to further enhance our partnership with Minnesota United and provide their fans with a user-friendly experience when they buy and resell tickets," said Dave Butler, President and CEO, Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement. "Our partnership integration with StubHub enables Minnesota United's growing fan base to purchase fantastic tickets during their upcoming NASL season, and going forward as an MLS club, in a convenient and safe manner through StubHub's official marketplace."
The announcement marks StubHub's fifth major soccer partnership since its inaugural MLS agreement with the LA Galaxy in 2013 and first with an NASL team. Since then, StubHub has partnered with other MLS clubs to provide official secondary ticket solutions to the Portland Timbers, Houston Dynamo and the Philadelphia Union.
