San Diego Strike Force News Release
SAN DIEGO, California - The Strike Force has signed defensive linebacker D'vonta Derricott to their 2020 Indoor Football League roster.
Derricott (6-1, 230, Arkansas Tech University) joins San Diego for his first season as a member of the IFL. In 2016 at Arkansas Tech, D'Vonta saw action in ten games and recorded 98 total tackles (49 solos) with six tackles for loss, two sacks, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries. He was named the conference defensive player of the week after racking up 18 tackles against Northwestern Oklahoma.
"D'Vonta has elite speed at linebacker and a real nose for the ball," said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. "We're excited to work with him and help transition his outdoor abilities to the indoor game, we think he can make a big impact on defense and brings a lot of utility to his position."
The Virginia native started his collegiate career out of Garden City Community College where he was ranked nationally ranked No.3 by ESPN for outside linebackers. He was named 2013 All-Jayhawk Conference performer after finishing with 67 tackles. He went on to transfer to Kansas State University and then Eastern Kentucky where he played one season and recorded 29 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception, four QB hurries, and four pass breakups. Derricott was born in Richmond, Virginia and attended Hermitage High School.
