PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers announced today that they have signed Peoria native offensive lineman Kamryn Bennett, running back Shadrach Thornton, and linebacker Ovenson Cledanord for the 2020 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Thornton was a member of the 2018 Arizona Rattlers squad.

OL Bennett (6'4, 305, UC Berkeley) got his first taste of IFL football last season when he joined the Nebraska Danger.

Bennett attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he played in 25 games for the Golden Bears, helping Patrick Laird reach 1,000 yards rushing in a single season (only the 16th player for Cal to do so). He also provided protection for QB Ross Bowers, who completed over 3,00 yards in a single season, only the seventh player to do so in Cal history.

The Peoria, Arizona native attended Centennial High School, where he was a two-time first-team All-West Valley selection, and the only junior to earn that recognition in 2012. He also earned first-team Division II All-State honors by 247Sports.

RB Thornton (6'1, 220, North Carolina State) was one of the Rattlers premier rushers until an injury sidelined him for the rest of the 2018 season. In his six games that year, he ran for 276 yards and seven touchdowns. He spent last season with the Tucson Sugar Skulls, where he finished the season averaging 5.1 yards per rush.

Prior to the IFL, Thornton had stints with the NFL's Oakland Raiders and the Canadian Football League's Ottawa Redblacks.

Thornton attended NC State where he amassed 2,369 yards, and 16 rushing touchdowns which still ranks him 10th in Wolfpack history for rushing yards and 12th for rushing touchdowns. Thornton posted the ninth-best yards per attempt in NC State history with 4.9 yards per attempt.

The Hinesville, Georgia native attended Liberty County High School where he led his conference and ranked sixth in the state for rushing. Thornton produced 1,738 rushing yards, 17 touchdowns, and four 200-yard games during his career while averaging 7.15 yards per carry.

LB Cledanord (5'11, 215, Delta State University) is entering his first season with the Arizona Rattlers, and in the IFL.

Cledanord played for Delta State University, where he was named to the 2018 All-Gulf South Conference second-team, the 2017 D2CCA All-Super Region II first-team and the 2017 All-Gulf South Conference first-team. As a linebacker for the Statesmen, he amassed 154 tackles, 11 sacks, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Cledanord transferred to Delta State from Dodge City Community College where he was given All-Conference honorable mention honors after recording 71 tackles, 10 for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble, and a pick.

The Greenacres, Florida native was a multi-sport athlete at John L Leonard High School. He was named All-Area first-team Defense, Friday Night Lights first-team Defense, and was the three-time Defensive Player of the Year. Cledanord also played in the Florida-Georgia, the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast, and the Down and Under Bowl All-Star Games. He also participated in the Grey and Blue All-Star game. Cledanord also lettered in track and weight lifting for the Lancers.
