Strike Force Set for League-Leading Rattlers

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Strike Force enter this weekend's matchup against the Arizona Rattlers following a 65-48 loss to Tucson in Week 12. Last week, Strike Force quarterback Jihad Vercher went 11-17 for 160 yards in the air and three touchdowns. Vercher also carried the ball nine times for 45 yards and a touchdown.

San Diego running back George Moreira Jr. had a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the game. Offensive lineman Jackson Dallas recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.

Strike Force wide receiver Julian Stafford reeled in three passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, and wide receiver Marques Rodgers caught four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers ranks fifth in the IFL in receiving yards (612) and leads the IFL in all-purpose yards (1,597), and Stafford is tied for fifth in touchdown receptions (11). Wide receiver/running back Dominique Carson caught a 20-yard pass for a touchdown.

San Diego kicker Ernesto Lacayo went 6-6 on extra points and 2-3 on field goals, one completed from 45 yards and the other from 53.

Strike Force linebacker Ralph Harvey Jr. led the team with 15 tackles, which is the second most tackles in an IFL game this season.

The Arizona Rattlers are coming off a bye in Week 12 following a 56-46 win against the Nebraska Danger in Week 11. The team has clinched a spot in the 2019 IFL playoffs. In the victory, 2018 IFL MVP Drew Powell made his debut for Arizona, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for three.

Arizona defensive lineman Ricky Wyatt Jr. is tied for second in the IFL in sacks (6). Sunday will be the third all-time meeting between San Diego and Arizona. The Rattlers won the previous two matchups.

San Diego has the IFL's third ranked passing offense (165.1 ypg), while Arizona leads the IFL in pass defense (134.8 ypg). Arizona also leads the league in scoring offense (63.3 ppg) and rushing offense (110.4 ypg).

The game between the Strike Force and Rattlers will be played on Sunday, May 19 at 5:05 p.m. PT at Pechanga Arena San Diego and will be streamed live on the IFL's YouTube page.
