Omaha Beef News Release

Omaha, Nebraska – Omaha Beef Football announces today that quarterback John McMenamin is added to the 2005 roster and wide receiver A. J. Street returns.

Omaha Beef Football has added former Northwest Missouri State quarterback John McMenamin to the 2005 roster. McMenamin, an Omaha Central High School graduate, was also a member of Northwest Missouri StateÂ’s back-to-back Division II National Championship teams. His senior year McMenamin led the Bearcats to the MIAA Conference championship and a 12-1 record.

The 6-5, 225lbs McMenamin passed for 6,225 career yards while at Northwest Missouri State and still holds many passing records at the school. McMenamin has also played for the Austin Wranglers and the Dallas Desperados of the AFL. McMenamin will bring strong leadership to the Beef offense.

Making his return to the Beef a second year is wide receiver A. J. Street. In his first season with the Beef last year he accumulated 542 yards on 46 receptions with 10 touchdowns. He also ran 7 kick returns back for 142 yards. StreetÂ’s contribution to the team also includes 4.5 tackles. He holds a team season individual game record for number of touchdown receptions with three at the Show Me Believers on June 26, 2004.

"We are very excited to have AJ back in a Beef uniform. He is a hard working athlete who is a scoring threat every time he touches the football,” said Robert Fuller, Omaha Beef Football Head Coach.

2005 will mark StreetÂ’s 3rd season in indoor football as he started his career leading the Bismarck Roughriders with 726 yards on 56 receptions and 23 touchdowns. He attended the University of Mary in North Dakota where he was an All-American.

Omaha Beef Football will host an invitation only player tryout at The Soccer Center located at 147th & Giles this weekend, Saturday, January 29th and Sunday, January 30th. Any player interested in participation should contact Head Coach Robert Fuller at the Omaha Beef Football office. The general public is invited to observe.
