Dayton Bulldogs News Release

Dayton, Ohio—The Dayton Warbirds are proud to announce three more signings for their inaugural season. Brandon Tisdale, DL; Jon Cain, WR; and Billy Back, WR; will go to camp to compete for starting jobs with the UIF expansion team. All three played college football at Wilmington College in nearby Wilmington, Ohio.

Tisdale, a 5’11” 280 pound defensive lineman, was a 2004 first team All American as well as a starter for the United States in the 2004 Aztec Bowl during his senior season. Brandon finished the 2004 campaign with 51 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 7 sacks, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles and 4 fumble recoveries. He had 90 tackles for a loss during his college career and is 2nd all time in NCAA division III. He is also 3rd all time in NCAA division III for sacks.

Jon Cain played for the Wilmington Quakers from 1998-2002. He is a 3 time All American and holds all receiving records at Wilmington College. Cain, a 6’0” 182 pound wide receiver has great speed and very soft hands. He was recently clocked at 4.48 in his 40-yard dash. Cain has some indoor experience, playing in 2003 for the now defunct Cincinnati Swarm.

Billy Back made the team the hard way. He found his way on by impressing the coaching staff at the January 17th tryouts. Billy is small at only 5’10” and 165 pounds. However, defenders had a hard time covering him during the workout. Billy has experience in high school and college playing on the defensive side of the ball. He had 4 interceptions and 7 tackles in only two games during his 1999 season, which was limited due to a broken kneecap. Back also has 2 and a half years of single A baseball under his cap.

The Warbirds kick off their inaugural season March 17th at the Nutter Center against the Peoria Rough Riders. Season tickets are on sale now. For more information on the Warbirds, please visit their website at www.daytonwarbirds.com or call the office at (937) 427-9737.
