CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Kellen Strahm homered and set a season high with four hits and four RBIs, leading the Frisco RoughRiders to a 6-2 win on Wednesday over the Corpus Christi Hooks at Whataburger Field.

Strahm singled in the first inning to give Frisco its first lead of the day. Evan Carter and Trevor Hauver had set the table with free passes, and Aaron Zavala followed Strahm's single with an RBI groundout.

After a fourth-inning single, Strahm notched his third hit, and his second go-ahead RBI, in the sixth inning with a single to left field. Hauver scored from second base, having doubled moments earlier.

Strahm culminated an eighth inning two-out rally when Hauver drew his second walk and Strahm went yard to left center field. It was his fifth homer and the 100th for the Riders this season.

Hauver also walked twice on Wednesday and now leads the team with 18 doubles. He added an insurance RBI single in the 9th inning in another two-out rally. Chris Seise walked and Carter earned an infield single before Hauver's hit.

Nick Krauth (4-8) went six strong innings in his start, allowing just three hits and two runs to take the win. After Ryan Garcia's six no-hit innings on Tuesday, the Riders put together back-to-back quality starts for the first time since May 31st and June 1st.

Krauth limited a threat in the second inning after the Hooks loaded the bases with no outs. Keyber Rodriguez started a double play with a glove flip to second baseman Jayce Easley. A run came in on the double play but the 2-1 lead stayed intact after Krauth struck the next man out. He ended his day retiring the final eight hitters he encountered.

Aidan Anderson retired all four batters he faced with two strikeouts, Grant Wolfram recorded the final two outs of the eighth and Matt Bush went three-up, three-down in the ninth.

Rhett Kouba (7-5) suffered the loss with two earned runs in 5.1 innings.

Frisco plays the Hooks again on Thursday, August 10th at 6:35 p.m. in Corpus Christi, with RHP Noah Bremer (0-1, 7.97 ERA) starting for Frisco. The Hooks' starter will be RHP Ryan Gusto (2-1, 3.49 ERA).

Frisco's next home series is against the Tulsa Drillers, beginning Tuesday, August 15th at 7:05 p.m. Get your tickets now at RidersBaseball.com or call 972.731.9200.
