CORPUS CHRISTI - Nick Krauth delivered six sterling innings while Kellen Strahm knocked in four runs as Frisco knocked off Corpus Christi, 6-2, Wednesday night at Whataburger Field.
Kenedy Corona clubbed his 21st home run of the year to establish a 2-2 stalemate in the third. Corona has gone deep in two of the last three games.
Following the blast to left, Krauth responded by dispatching 14 of 17 batters to finish his outings.
Three Frisco relievers held the Hooks to one single over the last three innings.
The Riders' work on the hill spoiled a strong start by Rhett Kouba, who scattered three runs (two earned), five hits and one walk over 5 1/3 innings. With his 21st outing in the books, Kouba leads the Texas League with a 1.07 WHIP, while ranking second in the circuit in ERA at 3.56.
Cole McDonald breezed two over 2 1/3 perfect innings in relief of Kouba.
Strahm gave Frisco a 3-2 edge in the sixth with an RBI single before providing separation in the eighth by hitting a two-run home run to left-center.
