Seattle Storm News Release

This Week's Opponents

Minnesota: The Storm won just once in their first six trips to Minnesota, but are 2-2 at Target Center over the last two seasons, including a 72-66 win in their most recent trip on Aug. 12, 2005. Five of the last six Minnesota wins in the all-time series have come by five points or fewer, while Seattle's 16-point victory in the final meeting last year (Aug. 18, 2005) was the largest ever for either team.

Chicago: The Storm grabbed an 86-73 victory in the first-ever meeting against the Sky last Wednesday as six Seattle players, including all five starters, scored in double figures. Lauren Jackson led the way with 19 points, while Barbara Turner scored a then-career-high 12 in a reserve role. The loss was the sixth straight for Chicago, who have now dropped eight consecutive games since their opening-day win over Charlotte.

Sacramento: The Storm fell to the Monarchs 87-66 at ARCO Arena on May 31 in the first meeting between the teams this season. Jackson led the Storm with 20 points, but Seattle's only lead of the game came on an early Betty Lennox lay-up that put the Storm in front 2-0. The Storm are just 2-9 all-time at ARCO Arena, with both of those wins coming in 2004 following an 0-7 start for the franchise in Sacramento.

Dads and Grads Ticket Offer

In honor of both Father's Day and all local high school and college graduations, the Storm are encouraging all Dads and Grads in the area to take advantage of a special 2-for-1 ticket offer at the June 21 game vs. Phoenix (7 p.m. tipoff). Each fan who purchases a lower-level sideline ticket for just $32 will get a second one free. Fans can take advantage of this offer by logging on to storm.wnba.com or by visiting KeyArena's East Box Office one hour prior to tip-off on June 21.

‘Stormin' For The Cure' Reminder

The Puget Sound Race for the Cure will be held this Saturday, June 17, at 7 a.m. at Qwest Field and the Qwest Exhibition Center. The "Stormin' for the Cure" race team, captained by Sue Bird, features nearly 200 team members who have pledged to participate in the race.
