Guelph Storm News Release
GUELPH - The Guelph Storm Hockey Club has announced that they have acquired a 4th round pick (WSR) in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in exchange for overage forward Patrick Watling.
"Patrick has been a very valuable and versatile player for us the past two years as well as an outstanding person and student," Storm GM Mike Kelly said. "This move allows Patrick to complete his OHL career playing in front of family and friends in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie and to arrange for next year's engineering studies."
Watling was drafted by the Storm in the 10th round of the 2009 Priority Selection. The overage forward recorded a total of 48 points, 18 goals and 30 assists, in a Storm jersey. The 2012-2013 season was his career best finishing the year with 25 points.
