Storm to Face Beef for Final Time

The Sioux Falls Storm (11-3) are back at the Storm Shelter this Saturday night at 7:05pm as they welcome the Omaha Beef (9-5). Dakotaland Autoglass is the proud sponsor of this opening round of playoffs and fourth meeting of these two teams for the 2010 season.

The Storm are coming off a convincing win over the Sioux City Bandits 78-36. It was the Storm's 16th straight win over the Bandits and win that clinched the second seed for the Storm in the United Conference. Bryant had a standout night completing 12 of 15 throws for 177 yards and five touchdowns. The Storm looks to get some extra help this week with the return of James Jones. The Thunder Defense finished the night strong forcing the Bandits into three interceptions and three sacks. Mark Blackburn had standout performance with 7.5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 pass break ups and one blocked extra point. Blackburn was named Vidswap.com Defensive Player of the Week.

The Beef make their third trip to town after defeating the Wichita Wild 48-31 last week. Beef quarterback, Ben Sankey, had another consistent night of passing going 24 of 32 for 244 yards and four touchdowns. The Beef defense held the Wild to only 120 yards all night.

Saturday's game is sure to be a nail biter. The game has been decided in the final seconds in each of the last two meeting between these two teams. The Storm defeated the Beef 57-56 in overtime last time the Beef came to town. The winner of Saturday's game will proceed on to round two of the IFL playoffs.
