Guelph Storm News Release

The Storm picked up three points this past weekend with a shootout loss against the Battalion on Friday night, a victory over the Rangers on Saturday and a 2-0 loss to the London Knights on Sunday. Friday night the Storm faced a red hot Battalion squad that hadn't lost in over 10 games. The Storm played head to head with Brampton, but an unlucky bounce in the final minute of play saw the Battalion tie it up and eventually win in a shootout. Saturday at the Sleeman Centre, the Storm jumped out to a two goal cushion in the first only to surrender two to the Rangers in the second. A third period goal by Taylor Beck eventually won the match and the Storm picked up the two points. On Sunday in London, Guelph mustered only 19 shots on newly acquired Knights goaltender Trevor Cann and failed to capitalize. An empty net goal with McCollum pulled late in the third gave the Knights a two goal lead and the 2-0 victory. With three points this past weekend, the Storm currently sit second in the Midwest Division with a record of 13-8-1-2 and 29 points.
