Storm Take on Blizzard Round Two

The Green Bay Blizzard and Sioux Falls Storm will face off for the second time in five days when the Storm head to the Resch Center on Friday, April 21, 2023. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. CT.

Green Bay (2-2) is coming off a thrilling Week Five victory against the Storm (1-2). Sunday's win marked the first time in franchise history that the Blizzard won on the road in Sioux Falls. Green Bay emerged victorious, 47-41, despite entering the fourth quarter with a 14-point deficit.

The Blizzard offense was firing on all cylinders in Sioux Falls. Quarterback Ja'rome Johnson threw for 187 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver Marquise Irvin caught three touchdowns, including a Hail Mary to end the first half to keep Green Bay within one score at the break. Wide receiver Steve Newbold was on the receiving end of Johnson's other two touchdown passes, and running back Terrence Smith added two rushing touchdowns.

The Blizzard defense also stepped up big, allowing only 13 second half points. In his first game with Green Bay, linebacker Calvin Bundage led the team with 8.5 tackles. Defensive back Tre McNeill came up with a huge fourth quarter interception to put the Blizzard in scoring position to tie the game with just over five minutes remaining.

Winners of their last two games, Green Bay is looking to extend their win streak against their Eastern Conference rival.
