Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League will begin their quest for the Clark Cup against the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday and Saturday night at the FirsTier Event Center. Tickets are available for both games by calling (308) 338-8011 or online at www.pickmytickets.com. Both games start at 7:05 p.m.
Tri-City, the West division's second seed, and Sioux City, the West division's fifth seed, will face off in a best-of-seven first round series beginning with Friday's Game 1 and Saturday's Game 2. The two teams will travel to Sioux City for Game 3 and 4 next Tuesday and Wednesday. If necessary, Games 5 and 7 would also be in Kearney.
Tri-City and Sioux City played each other seven times during the regular season with the Storm going 2-4-1 in those contests.
"I look forward to a competitive series with two contrasting styles. We want to play hard hitting with honest forechecking and a honest defensive game, while Sioux City will try and stretch things out and make things happen in the neutral zone," said Tri-City head coach Bliss Littler.
The Clark Cup is awarded annually to the USHL's postseason champion. Tri-City has never won a Clark Cup although finishing second in 2004.
