Kearney, NE - The Tri-City Storm were held off the scoreboard in the opening game of the Western Conference Final Tuesday night at the Viaero Center in Kearney. The Sioux Falls Stampede scored two 2nd period goals and added an additional goal in the 3rd period to win Game #1 of the Western Conference Final 3-0. Tri-City now trails 1-0 in the best of five series and will host Sioux Falls tomorrow at the Viaero Center for Game #2 of the Western Conference Final. Puck drop for tomorrow's Clark Cup Playoff game is scheduled for 7:05pm.

After a scoreless opening period on Tuesday night, the Stampede scored the first goal of the game at the 6:32 mark of the 2nd period. Blake Bride netted his 1st goal of the postseason with assists going to Max Crozier and Sam Stevens. Sioux Falls' added another goal at 10:56 of the 2nd period to take a 2-0 lead in the game. The Stampede's 2nd goal of the game was scored on the power play by Andre Lee and was assisted by Jami Krannila and Logan Britt. After taking a two-goal lead into the 3rd period, Sioux Fall's scored the only goal of the 3rd period to seal the 3-0 road win over Tri-City. Sioux Falls' final goal of the night was scored at 15:48 of the 3rd period by Cade Borchardt and was assisted by Mason Klee and Carl Berglund. In the win, the Stampede improved to 6-1 in the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs and took a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

Tri-City outshot Sioux Falls 24-19, including 10-7 in the 1st period and 8-6 in the 3rd period but was unable to score a goal and fell by a final score of 3-0. Tonight's shutout marked the 1st time in the 2019 Clark Cup playoffs that the Storm was held off the scoreboard in a game. Isaiah Saville recorded the loss in net, stopping 16 of 19 shots in the game. The Storm return home tomorrow night to host Sioux Falls in Game #2 of the Western Conference Final.

Kids 12 & Under can attend tomorrows for free, and drink specials will be offered all night along around the Viaero Center concourse. Game #3 of the best of five Western Conference Final series will be hosted by the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Denny Sanford Premiere Center in Sioux Falls, SD on Friday night. The Tri-City Storm will host a watch party for Game #3 at the Viaero Center.
