Gameday Preview: Storm Host Stampede for Game #1 of Western Conference Final

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm return to action in the Clark Cup Playoffs tonight after eliminating the Des Moines Buccaneers in the Western Conference Semifinal one week ago. Tonight, at the Viaero Center in Kearney, Tri-City hosts the Sioux Falls Stampede for Game #1 of the Western Conference Final. Tickets for tonight's Western Conference Final game are still available and can be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, by calling 308-338-8144, or by visiting the Viaero Center Box Office prior to tonight's game. Doors open at 6:05pm, and puck drop for tonight's Clark Cup Playoff game is set for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (3-0, #1 Seed) hosts Sioux Falls tonight following a complete three game sweep of the Des Moines Buccaneers in the Conference Semifinals round of the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs. After receiving a bye through the opening round of the playoffs, the Storm outscored the Buccaneers 15-4 and did not allow an even strength goal during its first three games of the Clark Cup Playoffs. Tri-City won both games on home ice at the Viaero Center on April 19th & April 20th, before eliminating Des Moines in Game #3 of the Western Conference Semifinals on April 23rd. Through three games played in the Clark Cup Playoffs, Brendan Furry leads the team with four postseason goals. Furry's hat trick in Game #1 of the Western Conference Semifinal was the 1st postseason hat trick in organization history. Shane Pinto currently leads the Storm with five assists and eight points in the playoffs. Isaiah Saville's shutout in Game #2 of the Western Conference Semifinal was the 1st postseason shutout by a Storm goaltender since Jake Kielly's 41 save shutout against the Waterloo Black Hawks on May 6th, 2016.

Sioux Falls (5-1, #3 Seed) travels to Kearney tonight to faceoff against the Storm following a 2-1 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks on April 24th in Game #4 of the Western Conference Semifinal. Brian Chambers scored his 1st goal of the postseason at 8:25 of the overtime period to send the Stampede to the Conference Final. Prior to facing the Black Hawks, Sioux Falls eliminated Sioux City in the opening round of the Clark Cup Playoffs. In six games played in the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs, Sioux Falls has played three overtime games, and has won each playoff game that has gone past regulation time. The Stampede's only loss of the postseason came in a 6-0 defeat in Game #2 of the Western Conference Semifinal to the Waterloo Black Hawks. The Stampede and the Storm played four games in the 2018-2019 regular season, Sioux Falls' only win came on March 1st in a 4-1 defeat of the Storm at the Denny Sanford Premiere Center.
