
Storm Set to Open 2022-2023 Regular Season

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA. - The Tri-City Storm is set to open the 2022-2023 regular season tonight against the Madison Capitols in the 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Tonight's opening game of the season will be played on FedEx Rink 1 at the two-sheet facility. The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex is the primary practice and training facility of the Pittsburgh Penguins as well as a comprehensive outpatient facility for UPMC Sports Medicine. Puck drop for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:30pm CT.
Tri-City (0-0-0-0) will seek to defend last season's Anderson Cup Championship and pursue a second Clark Cup Championship in the 2022-2023 USHL Regular Season. The 2021-2022 Tri-City Storm captured a second consecutive Western Conference Regular Season Championship with a final record of 47-11-3-1. Tri-City tied a USHL Tier I Era Record with 98 points in the standings during the 2021-2022 regular season. The Storm's 47 overall wins and 27 home wins recorded last season were the most in organizational history. Tri-City completed the preseason with a 3-2-0-0 record. Scoring leaders for the Storm during exhibition play included Tanner Adams (3), Cameron O'Neill (3), Daimon Gardner (2), Artemi Nizameyev (2), Sebastian Törnqvist (2), and Brock James (2). Tri-City will complete play at the 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic tomorrow at 4:30pm CT in a matchup with the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Madison (0-0-0-0) seeks to return to the Clark Cup Final in the 2022-2023 season after advancing to the final round of the postseason for the first time in organizational history last season. The Capitols notched a 30-29-3-0 record during the 2021-2022 regular season. The team qualified for the postseason for the first time in organizational history before eventually falling in the 2022 Clark Cup Final to the Sioux City Musketeers. Madison completed the exhibition schedule with a 1-2-0-0 record. Goal scorers for the Capitols in the preseason included Miko Matikka (2), Finn Brink (2), Quinn Finley (1), Conner Schneider (1), and Nick Wallace (1). Madison will complete play at the 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic tomorrow at 7:30pm CT in a matchup with the Fargo Force.

Individual game tickets, including tickets to the Storm's Home Opener at the Viaero Center on Friday, September 30th against the Omaha Lancers, are also available for purchase.
