Storm Set to Battle Musketeers

SIOUX CITY, IA. - The Tri-City Storm is set to battle the Sioux City Musketeers tonight at the Tyson Events Center in the team's opening game of the weekend. Tri-City will play an additional road game tomorrow afternoon against the Sioux Falls Stampede to complete a two-game road trip. Puck drop for tonight's game is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.

Tri-City (18-16-2-3) collected one point last weekend on home ice in two back-to-back battles with the Waterloo Black Hawks. The Storm erased a two-goal deficit a week ago at the Viaero Center to force an overtime decision against the Black Hawks. Trevor Connelly and Jake Richard each score a goal in the matchup for Tri-City. Waterloo's Gavin O'Connell scored the game-winning goal with just over a minute to play during the overtime period. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's road game against the Musketeers include Jake Richard (19), Evan Werner (14), Graham Gamache (13), Kieran Cebrian (11), Alex Bump (9), Sebastian Törnqvist (9), Tanner Adams (8), and Trevor Connelly (8). Tonight's matchup will be the third meeting of the season between the Storm and the Musketeers. Tri-City won last year's regular season series with a head-to-head record of 6-2-0-1. The Storm has posted a record of 20-8-1-1 in games played against the Musketeers over the past five seasons. Tri-City won the most recent matchup in the series by a final score of 4-3 in a shootout at the Tyson Events Center on November 26th, 2022. Four of the remaining six games in this year's series between the Storm and the Musketeers will be played at the Viaero Center.

Sioux City (18-17-2-3) enters tonight's game in a tie with Tri-City for 4th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings with 41 points. The Musketeers are 4-6-0-0 over the past ten games, and will be seeking to snap a four-game losing skid in tonight's home battle against the Storm. Sioux City dropped a 6-3 decision to the Fargo Force on the road at Scheels Arena one week ago. Grant Slukynsky (2), and Ben Doran scored goals for Sioux City in the loss. Scoring leaders for the Musketeers entering tonight's home game at the Tyson Events Center include Ryan Conmy (23), Tyler Hotson (11), Ben Poitras (11), Kaden Shahan (11), Dylan Godbout (9), Ben Doran (9), and Grant Slukynsky (9). Sioux City previously posted a home win over Tri-City on October 21st, 2022, by a final score of 5-2. The Musketeers hold a 6-7-1-3 record in head-to-head matchups against the Storm at the Tyson Events Center over the past five seasons. Sioux City will complete play in a two-game weekend tomorrow afternoon with a home game against the Lincoln Stars. The Musketeers will travel to the Viaero Center for the first time this season for back-to-back road games against the Storm next weekend.
