
Storm open season Saturday at KeyArena

SEATTLE â The defending WNBA Champion Seattle Storm open their 2005 regular season against their Western Conference rival Los Angeles Sparks at KeyArena this Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m.
During pregame of the season opener against the Sparks, the Storm's 2004 WNBA Championship banner will officially be raised to the KeyArena rafters. The festivities will also feature Storm players receiving their 2004 championship rings. Fans are encouraged to be in the arena by 12:30 p.m. to view the ceremony. KeyArena doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Other festivities surrounding the game include a Tipoff Rally from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on KeyArena's West Plaza featuring face painting, balloon artists, basketball hoops and a sign-making station.
The first 10,000 fans through the arena doors receive a Fan Championship Ring. Also, the first 7,000 fans will receive a 2005 Storm Magnet Schedule.
Single-game tickets for Storm games can be purchased through TicketMaster by logging on to the new STORM.WNBA.COM or calling 877-WNBA-TIX. Storm tickets are also available at the Sonics & Storm Team Shop located at 312 First Ave. on KeyArena's West Plaza.
Storm single-game tickets are still available starting at $10.
The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises â the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
