March 19, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm head out to Rochester, NY to face a new foe in the second game of the IFL season. The Storm will play the Rochester Raiders, in Rochester, NY on Thursday March 19th at 7:35 PM (EST).
The Storm (1-0) are coming off their exciting win in Bloomington where a touchdown pass and two-point conversion put the Storm up 50-47 with under :20 in the fourth quarter. The Raiders (0-0) are on a similar success run, like the Storm, as 2007 Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) Champions and an undefeated season in 2008 has the Raiders on a 26 game win streak. The Storm, hope to snap the Raiders' win streak, protecting their current hold on the longest win streak in any professional sport with 40 consecutive wins and go to 2-0 on the 2009 season.
The Raiders, like many IFL teams, have benefited from the suspension of the AFL's 2009 season. Earlier the Raiders picked up Quarterback Matt Kohn of the Orlando Predators, Wide Receivers Rob Mager from the Chicago Rush and Cesare Manning who played with the Kansas City Brigade.
While only six teams played in week one of the inaugural IFL season, the Storm started off on the right foot. They were ranked #1 in passing offense, total offense, first downs, and tied for first with 4 sacks. Storm newcomer and former Minnesota Viking, Brent Little leads the league in all receiving categories with 10 receptions totally 122 yards. He also leads the league in all purpose yards with 132. Storm quarterback, Terrance Bryant also leads the league in a number of categories after week one. Bryant's number one in passing and total offense with 243 yards off of a 25 for 37 performance that displayed 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Kickoff in Rochester tonight is at 7:35 PM (EST). There are plenty of ways fans can not miss out on all the action. As always, Rich Roste will bring every play on KOOL 107.9 tonight starting at 6:10PM (CST). Fans can also watch the action while listening to Roste give the play by play via the B2 Network. A link on www.siouxfallsstorm.com is set up if fans would like to order the game for $7.
