Tulsa Drillers News Release
MIDLAND, TX - The Tulsa Drillers game with the Midland RockHounds, scheduled to be played Tuesday night in west Texas, was not just rained out, but also hailed out. A strong thunderstorm struck the Midland-Odessa area just before the scheduled first pitch and forced the postponement.
The thunderstorm included golf ball-sized hail, leaving severe damage to many of the automobiles in the stadium parking lot.
The game will now be played as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday night with the first game starting at 5:00 p.m. at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland.
The Drillers are one game into an eight-game road trip. In the trip opener Monday, the RockHounds shut out the Drillers 4-0. Tulsa is scheduled to play four games in Midland, followed by four more in Corpus Christi.
