Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY, NE - The Tri-City Storm coaching staff is now in place after the hiring of additional assistant coach, Eric Fink. Fink brings a wealth of experience from hockey country in Minnesota. He will fulfill a strong connection to the Midwest hockey recruiting scene.
Fink joins the Storm staff after most recently coaching Owatonna Express of the NAHL where he served as an assistant coach. Prior to that Fink was an assistant coach with Augsburg College NCAA Division III school in 2007-2008. In the 2006-07 season, Fink helped the Southern Minnesota Express earn a third place finish in the NAHL as an assistant coach.
Fink's longest coaching stint came as the Head Coach of Twin Cities Northern Lights of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MNJHL) Junior B team in Bloomington, MN. He held that position for three seasons from 2002-2006. Fink took the team to a National Tournament appearance in his final season and finished third. He was named coach of the year in MNJHL in the 2004-2005 season. That year the organization was also credited with a National Award given by Positive Coaching Alliance and Stanford University.
The addition of Fink gives the Storm a full coaching staff with Drew Schoneck as head coach and Ryan Bencurik joining Fink as an assistant. The 10th anniversary of Storm hockey begins October 3rd in Omaha against the Lancers and the home opener is October 9th and 10th. For tickets or additional information, visit www.stormhockey.com
