Sioux City Musketeers News Release

2009-2010 SCHEDULE RELEASED

The full pre-season and regular season schedules are on our website on the schedule page. There are a few pre-season details that are missing but the dates and locations are solid. There will be no home preseason games this year other than the USHL Fall Classic. The Musketeers have the 7:00pm game for each day of the USHL's annual pre-season tournament.

FALL CLASSIC VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Welcome/Information Committee for the Fall Classic is in need of four volunteers. People interested in volunteering should be friendly and familiar with the Sioux City area. Volunteers should be prepared to clearly explain to people where places of interest are located and how to get there. (Maps to give out will be available). The committee has tables located at the Tyson Events Center and the IBP Ice Arena. Volunteers work with 1-2 others at their table 1 hour prior to the start of the game through the completion of the game. They can work as many games as they would like during the Fall Classic. Interested? Please contact Jeff Harris by email: muskiefan@msn.com or contact the Musketeers Office at 252-2115.

The Off Ice Official Committee for the Fall Classic is in need of additional volunteersto help fill the following positions:

Statisticians: Volunteers in this area record shots on goal, plus/minus statistics, penalties and other statistics as required.

Penalty box attendants: Penalty Box Attendants are responsible for keeping track of the time in and time out of each player that enters the penalty box over and above what is listed on the scoreboard. This can sometimes be a challenging task when there are two or more players in the penalty box, or when multiple infractions are assessed to one or more players in the same penalty box. Penalty box attendants must be male and at least 21 years of age.

Goal Judge - The only thing that a Goal Judge has to do is turn on the red goal light when puck crosses the goal line completely.

Runners: Volunteers will help gather and deliver the various pieces of paper that are a part of each game. This job will entail quite a bit of walking.

If you are interested in knowing more about being an Off Ice Official, please contact Larry Dicks at 712-255-1097 or Angie Turpen at sonshine@q.com or the Musketeers Office at 252-2115.
