
Storm Defeat Rival Lancers 5-1

Ralston, NE. - The Tri-City Storm spoiled tonight's home opener for the Omaha Lancers by scoring 5 unanswered goals to defeat rival Omaha 5-1. Blais Richartz, Ian Murphy, Jake Crespi, Asa Kinnear, and Joe Berg all scored goals in the Tri-City win. Isaiah Saville made 19 saves on 20 shots and picked up the win in goal for the Storm.
Omaha scored the game's opening goal at 9:39 of the 1st period to take a 1-0 lead. The goal from Ryan Savage assited by Jaxon Nelson would be the game's only goal for Omaha. Tri-City tied the game up less than two minutes later on Blais Richartz's first goal of the season. The goal from Richartz at 11:00 was unassisted. With period less than half a minute to go in the game's opening period, the Storm found additional offense and took a one goal lead. At the 19:43 mark of the period, Ian Murphy scored his 2nd goal of the season to give Tri-City a 2-1 lead entering the 2nd. Filip Forsmark and Brad Morrissey recorded assists on the goal. Shots were 7-7 in the opening 20 minutes.
Tri-City increased its lead to three goals with two 2nd period goals from Jake Crespi and Asa Kinnear. Crespi's goal was scored at 4:25 of the 2nd period and was assisted by Brad Morrissey and Joe Molenaar. Kinnear's goal was scored shorthanded at the 11:38 mark of the period and was assisted by Chase McLane. The Storm outshot the Lancers 8-7 in the 2nd period and carried a 4-1 lead into the 3rd period.
The Storm held the Lancers off the board in the 3rd period, and Joe Berg buried an empty net goal to give Tri-City a 5-1 win. Isaiah Saville picked up his 2nd career win in goal for Tri-City, and the Storm improved to 3-0 in the win.
Tri-City now looks ahead to next week's game against the Des Moines Buccaneers. The matchup will take place at the Viaero Center in Kearney, NE. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
