The Week in Review

The Storm had another busy week this week as they continued their hunt for fourth place in the Western conference trailing the Kitchener rangers by five points.

On Friday at the Sleeman Centre, the Storm hosted the Niagara Ice Dogs. Tyler Bertuzzi scored twice and Brock McGinn recorded his first career OHL hattrick to lead the Storm over the Ice Dogs 5-3.

Saturday night, the Storm traveled to Barrie to take on the second place Eastern Conference Colts. Putting up 44 shots on the shot clock, the Storm couldn't solve Barrie netminder Matthias Niederberger and would lose to the Colts by a score of 2-0.

The Storm's final game of the week was against Sudbury on Sunday afternoon. In front of a Sleeman Centre crowd of 4,343 the Storm regained their scoring touch with seven different scorers including Brody Milne who returned to the line-up after missing almost two months with a broken jaw. The Storm defeated the Wovles 7-2.

Andrey Pedan N amed Hy-Grade Steel Roofing Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that defenceman Andrey Pedan is the Hy-Grade Steel Roofing Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 25th.

Pedan was solid in all four games this past week picking up six points (one goal and five assists). On Monday at home in front of a sold-out Family Day Holiday game against Kitchener, Pedan was named the first star scoring his 12th of the season and what turned out to be the game winning goal in the Storm's 5-3 victory. On Friday night against Niagara, the New York Islanders prospect picked up an assist and was a +3 helping his team to a 5-3 win over the Ice Dogs. Sunday against the Wolves, the Moscow native picked up two assists in the Storm's 7-2 win.

Pedan currently has 39 points and leads all Storm defenceman in goals (12), assists (27) and points (39). He is tied for second on the team in powerplay goals with 7 and leads the team in penalty minutes with 121.

Next up, the Storm play a weekend away from the Sleeman Centre traveling to Sault Ste. Marie on Friday night before visiting Sudbury on Sunday. Next Tuesday they face off against the Kitchener Rangers at the Aud for a 7:00pm start.
