Guelph Storm News Release
GUELPH - Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett has announced today that the Storm have traded forward Matthew Papais to the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Niagara's third round selection in 2025 and Oshawa's fourth round selection in 2024.
Headed to the IceDogs is Papais, a native of Nobleton, Ontario, who was the Guelph Storm's seventh round pick (127th overall) in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.
After missing the COVID season in 2020-21, Papais had an excellent 19-year old campaign in 2021-22, contributing 19 goals and 21 assists for 40 points in just 60 games.
The Storm would like to wish Matthew and his family all the best with his new opportunity in Niagara and thank him for his hard work and commitment to the Storm organization.
