
Wolves Complete Trade with Mississauga

(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce they have acquired overage goaltender, Joe Ranger from the Mississauga Steelheads in exchange for Sudbury's 4th round draft pick in 2023.
"We are very excited to add Joe Ranger to our hockey club," said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. "We know him well, having faced him numerous times over the past three seasons. This past season, he took a big step in his career and had a very impressive 0.911 save percentage in 29 games. He was even better in the playoffs posting a 0.922 save percentage in 3 games played. He is a very high character person who will bring positive leadership and experience to both our dressing room and on the ice. He has family in Sudbury and is excited to come in and help our team succeed," added Papineau.
"Being a part of the Sudbury Wolves is an amazing feeling," said Ranger. "Having lots of family from Sudbury, it has always been a second home for me. I remember watching the Wolves games as a kid and I always dreamed of playing for them one day. I am very excited to meet the players, staff, and the fans! Go Wolves Go!" The 6'1", 196lbs goaltender is a native of Carp, ON. Ranger is set to embark on his 4th season of OHL hockey. Last season, Ranger had a standout season holding a Goals Against Average of 2.54, a Save Percentage of 0.911 and a record of 16 wins, 9 losses and 1 overtime loss. He was also named the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of December 27th - January 2nd.
Fans will get their first chance to see Ranger in action when the Sudbury Wolves open their Main Training Camp on Wednesday, August 31st. Season Memberships are on-sale now for the 2022-23 season.
