PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Riley O'Brien went six scoreless innings to lead the Charlotte Stone Crabs to a 3-0 shutout of the Florida Fire Frogs Thursday at Charlotte Sports Park.

The Stone Crabs' (58-47, 24-14) ninth shutout of the season extended their winning streak to a season-high seven games, completing a four-game sweep of the Florida Fire Frogs (43-59, 14-22).

O'Brien (3-3) surrendered just three hits and three walks, striking out five.

The Stone Crabs didn't pick up a hit until the bottom of the third when catcher Rene Pinto singled to left. After a Miles Mastrobuoni base hit, Lucius Fox shot a single to left to score Pinto and give the Stone Crabs a 1-0 lead.

Still up by that count in the bottom of the fifth, Mastrobuoni and Fox both singled before Brendan McKay pulled a base hit into right to make it 2-0. With Fox at third, Huascar Ynoa issued a wild pitch, pushing him home to make it 3-0.

Orlando Romero worked a perfect seventh inning to earn a save in his High-A debut before the game was called due to rain.

The Stone Crabs will travel to Dunedin Friday to start a three-game series with the Blue Jays at 6:30 p.m. Kenny Rosenberg (9-1, 4.45) will make the start for Charlotte. Coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network.
