PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Ian Anderson carried over his July dominance into the final month of the season by no-hitting the Charlotte Stone Crabs into the eighth inning. The combination of Anderson and Justin Kelly took the no-hitter through nine innings, but the Florida Fire Frogs dropped Wednesday's contest, 6-3 in 12 innings at Charlotte Sports Park.

Anderson retired the first nine batters of the ninth before having Lucius Fox reach on an error by Braxton Davidson at first. The play was originally called a single, but later changed to a defensive miscue. The Atlanta Braves' third-ranked prospect (MLB.com) retired the 12 batters until a wild pitch on a third strike allowed Jesus Sanchez to reach first to start the eighth.

The right-hander struck out Jermaine Palacios and retired Joey Roach on a fly ball to center for the first two outs of the inning, but walked Kevin Padlo on his 100th pitch of the game to end the 20-year-old's night.

The stellar outing lasted 7.2 innings for Anderson, setting a career-high for the Rexford, N.Y. native. Baseball's 40th-ranked prospect allowed just the three base runners and struck out five on the night to extend his league lead to 113.

Over his last five starts, Anderson has allowed just three runs - two earned - over 29.2 innings, posting an ERA of just 0.62 since the start of July.

Kelly took over out of the bullpen and forced Miles Mastrobuoni into an inning-ending ground out. The southpaw walked Robbie Tenerowicz with two outs in the ninth, but punched out Tristan Gray to leave the runner stranded.

Florida (14-21, 43-58) took the lead on Garrison Schwartz's (2x5, 2B, RBI) run-scoring double to bring home Kurt Hoekstra (1x1, R).

Charlotte (23-14, 57-47) knotted the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the frame from Jermaine Palacios.

The two teams exchanged runs again in the 11th with RBI hits from Riley Delgado (2x5, RBI) for the Fire Frogs and an RBI double by Padlo against Brandon White (1-3). The run-scoring hit was the first knock of the game for the Stone Crabs, who entered the game with a .292 team batting average.

Lucas Herbert (1x5, RBI) drove home Jordan Rodgers (0x4, R) with a single through the hole on the right side to give the visitors a 3-2 advantage in the 12th frame.

Jesus Sanchez doubled home Gray to start the 12th against White, and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Palacios. After an intentional walk to Roach, Padlo sent a 1-2 pitch into the bullpen in left to hand the Fire Frogs their second walk-off defeat of the series.

Ivan Pelaez (4-2) earned the win out of the bullpen with Charlotte, allowing two unearned runs on three hits across two frames.

Florida will try to avoid the series sweep on in the finale of the four-game set at Charlotte Sports Park. RHP Huascar Ynoa (0-0, --) takes the mound for the first time at the High-A level for the Fire Frogs against RHP Riley O'Brien (2-3, 5.87). First pitch is schedule for 6:35 p.m., with coverage beginning at 6:20 p.m. with the Florida Fire Frogs Pre-game Show on the Florida Fire Frogs Broadcasting Network.
