LAST TIME OUT: Saint Louis FC continued to struggle at home in a 3-1 loss to FC Montreal at World Wide Technology Soccer Park last weekend. STL FC is now 1-6-4 at home, and is one of two teams in the USL to record only one home win so far this season. Jamiel Hardware scored the team's only goal in the final minutes of the match. It was his second goal of the season.
THE OPPONENT: Charleston Battery enters Saturday's match on a three-game winless streak (0-2-1) and has scored just one goal in its last four games combined. The Battery has allowed the second-fewest goals (19) among all USL clubs this season, and is one of two teams that still has an undefeated record on its home pitch (6-0-5). Charleston will be playing on two weeks' rest on Saturday, having not played a match since August 1.
HOME-AND-HOME: Although they have yet to meet this season, Saint Louis FC and Charleston Battery will get to know each other quickly by playing two times in a five-day span. After Saturday's match in Charleston, the sides will meet again on August 20 at the Soccer Park.
PLAYING SHORT-HANDED: Four Saint Louis FC players will be suspended for Saturday's match after a confrontation occurred towards the end of the loss to Montreal last weekend. Nick Bibbs, Jacob Bushue, and Bryan Gaul will all be unavailable for Saturday's match. Bibbs and Bushue will be beginning multi-game suspensions for their roles in the incident against Montreal, while Gaul will be serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation.
