Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (January 31, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Tuesday that goaltender Scott Stirling has been loaned to the Titans by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Stirling, 27, returns to the team with whom he began the regular season. The sixth-year pro went 2-0-1 in Trenton's first three games before being recalled by the Rochester Americans (AHL) and traded to the San Antonio. Stirling was 1-5-1 in seven games for the Rampage with a 2.85 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.

Now in his third stint with Trenton, Stirling burst onto the scene during his rookie season in 2000-01 going 32-10-3, helping the Titans to their first Kelly Cup appearance and earning honors for ECHL Goaltender of the Year, All-ECHL First Team and All-ECHL Rookie Team.

The 6-2, 205-pounder left Trenton the following season to play between the pipes for intrastate rival, the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. In three seasons (2001-2004) with the Bullies, Stirling compiled a 72-28-12 record with a 2.42 goals against average and a .921 save percentage and was a member of the Atlantic City squad that claimed the Kelly Cup in 2002-03. Stirling perhaps enjoyed his finest year in 2003-04 going 31-13-5 with a 1.91 GAA for AC while becoming the first goalie to win Goaltender of the Year twice and only the second netminder to be named Most Valuable Player.

Last season, Stirling totaled a career best 35 wins as a part of a 35-18-3 campaign for the Danbury Thrashers of the United Hockey League. Prior to turning pro, he was a four-year letterman at Brown University from 1996-2000.
