Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that defenseman Stuart Kerr has been acquired from the Reading Royals for defenseman Nick Vukovic.
Kerr, who stands 6'3" and weighs 195 pounds, has played in 34 games for Reading this season scoring 3 goals, 3 assists for 6 points picking up 46 penalty minutes. He currently has the highest plus/minus rating on the Reading Royals team with a +18. Kerr also played in 68 games for Moose Jaw and Red Deer of the WHL last season scoring 4 goals, 7 assists for 11 points picking up 158 penalty minutes.
Kerr has played in a total of 257 games in the WHL for Spokane, Red Deer and Moose Jay from 2001-2005 scoring 8 goals, 28 assists for 30 points picking up 695 penalty minutes. He is 21 years old from Carberry, Manitoba and shoots left.
The Ice Pilots will host the Phoenix Roadrunners this Thursday and Friday night at the Pensacola Civic Center at 7:05 p.m. Friday night Baptist Hospital will host an intermission event and a ceremony will take place for the "Voice of the Ice Pilots" Paul Chestnutt who will be broadcasting his last Ice Pilots game on Friday night.
