Stingrays Return Home To Face Gladiators; Campbell Called To Houston

South Carolina Stingrays News Release


North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays return to North Charleston Coliseum today to cross sticks with the Gwinnett Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. and forward Trent Campbell has been called up to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. Today marks the 12 of 17 scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and the third in three nights.

Campbell, 27, leaves the Stingrays with nine goals and 24 assist for 33 points in 31 games. The Beauval, SASK native is currently on a nine-game point streak with 14 points (4g, 10a). Campbell, the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for December, scored a season-high 4 assists last night in the Stingrays' 6-5 overtime loss in Gwinnett. This is his second promotion of the season to the AHL after appearing in three games for the Worcester Sharks scoring one goal.

Rookie Jake Hauswirth has a four-game point streak (3g, 3a) and a two-game goal streak (2g) coming into tonight's game against Gwinnett.

Stingrays forward Keith Johnson is on a two-game point streak (2g, 3a) and has eight points (3g, 5a) in his last five games.

End of Regulation

Last night's game marked the fifth time in 11 contests that the Stingrays and Gladiators played beyond regulation time. The first four meetings of the season were all decided in overtime or a shootout.
