Florida Everblades News Release

READING, PA-- The Florida Everblades played their third consecutive game Sunday night. This time they faced the Reading Royals who came on strong and overcame the Florida Everblades 7-3 at the Sovereign Center in front of a crowd of 4,015. Reading kept the pressure on throughout the game and Florida managed one goal in the second (Reid) and two in the third (Zanon, Lang).

The Florida Everblades looked to come out strong in the first period.

They got an early power-play opportunity, but it was cut short when Chris Capraro was whistled for tripping at 4:36. Reading put 11 shots to Florida goalie Mike Morrison and lit the lamp three times off of goals from Ryan Cruthers, Jimmy Fraiser, and Olivier Labelle. The 'Blades called in Chris Beckford-Tseu to relieve Morrison and the period ended with Reading up 3-0.

Mike Morrison resumed his position in goal at the start of the second period. Ryan Cruthers scored again to make it 4-0. Elgin Reid avoided the shutout when he took a pass from Jordan Morrison and Phil Paquet.

Ryan Cruthers got a hat trick as he upped the score to 5-1 in favor of the Royals at 6:47. The score stayed static for the remainder of the period.

The first tally of the third period was scored by Nick St.Pierre of the Reading Royals. With the score at 6-1 Brad Zanon scored at 12:17. The goal was Brad Zanon's first of the season. Only 39 seconds later Jimmy Fraiser had a breakaway opportunity and scored to make the score 7-2.

Ryan Lang narrowed the deficit to four as he poked the puck past netminder Matt Dalton to make the final score 7-3.
