Stingrays Release 2016-17 Regular Season Schedule

South Carolina Stingrays News Release


NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, in conjunction with the ECHL, unveiled the team's 2016-17 regular season schedule today. Click HERE to view the entire schedule.

The club is currently skating in the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs, but will open its 24th season in the Lowcountry on Saturday, October 22 at the North Charleston Coliseum versus the South Division rival Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

The Stingrays schedule features contests versus four opponents who will make their first appearance at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Wichita Thunder visit the Lowcountry on October 25, and the Colorado Eagles come to town for three games from November 18-20. Also visiting the North Charleston Coliseum for the first time are the Tulsa Oilers on January 3 and the Manchester Monarchs on February 17-18.

South Carolina's longest homestand comes from March 18 to April 1, a stretch of seven straight games on home ice. The club will host three additional homestands of four or more games during the 2016-17 campaign. The schedule also features the return of a home game on New Year's Eve as the Stingrays will host the Florida Everblades on Saturday, December 31.

On the road, the Stingrays will visit Manchester, Colorado and Rapid City for the first time in team history. The schedule features several extended road trips, including six straight games away from home February 1-10, and a season-high seven-game road trip from February 24-March 10.

The season is once again scheduled for 72 games, with 36 coming at the North Charleston Coliseum. Of those home games, 30 contests come on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday, with the remaining six games coming on Tuesday evenings.

The Stingrays are #BACK4MORE. The club has advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs, and will play the Adirondack Thunder starting this weekend on home ice. Game 1 is this Friday, April 29 and Game 2 will be this Saturday, April 30. Both contests will be played at the North Charleston Coliseum with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Tickets are on sale at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office and online via Ticketmaster.

Games 1 and 2 will feature a Cheer Sign Giveaway to help cheer us to victory! The Cheer Signs feature the "Let's Go Rays!" slogan on one side, and the #BACK4MORE playoff hashtag with a Stingrays logo on the other side.
