Americans Announce 2016-2017 Schedule

Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced today that the 2016-2017 Allen Americans Schedule has been released to the public. The Americans will welcome several old rivals like Wichita, Tulsa and Missouri, along with several new opponents making their first ever trips to Allen.
The Americans will open the regular season at home on Saturday, October 15th against the Missouri Mavericks. as the first of back to back games, with a Sunday afternoon game the next day at 4:05 PM. That's followed up by two more home games the next week, as the Atlanta Gladiators make their first ever visit to Allen on October 19th & 21st. The Colorado Eagles will make their only trip to Allen Event Center on Wednesday, December 14th. The Americans will close before the Christmas break with back to back games against Idaho on December 22nd and 23rd. It's the return of the New Year's Eve game, after a year's absence, as the Utah Grizzlies will be here for their only visit on December 31st with a special 6:05 PM puck drop. As we turn the calendar to 2017, the Indy Fuel make their first ever visit to Allen on January 7th and 8th. The Missouri Mavericks return in mid-January for back to back games, including the 8th Annual MLK Kids Day Game on Monday, January 16th at 1:05 PM. The longest home stand of the season will run from December 31st to January 21st, with eight straight home games kicking off on New Year's Eve.
The road portion of the schedule features several new stops, including a Midwest swing in late Octobers with games in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Kalamazoo from October 28 to October 30th. The team will be on the road for the seventh time in the last eight years over the Thanksgiving holiday, with a trip out west to Utah on November 23rd, and on to Idaho for back to back games on November 25th and 26th. Allen will make its first ever trip to Florida in January, with games against both the Everblades and Solar Bears, January 25th through January 28th. Allen will close the regular season on the road on Friday, April 7th at Tulsa.
The Americans play Missouri and Tulsa most frequently next season, with 14 games each against both clubs. The Americans will not be visiting Alaska this season, however the Aces will come to Allen two times in early November. The Americans will play 26 of the 36 games on the weekend this season, with 11 on Saturdays, 10 on Fridays, and 5 Sunday afternoon games.
