Stingrays Force Game 7 in Kelly Cup Finals with Thrilling 4-1 Victory in North Charleston

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (15-11) buried the Allen Americans (15-9) 4-1 in Game 6 of the Kelly Cup Finals at the North Charleston Coliseum Wednesday night to force a decisive Game 7 on Sunday, June 14 at 5:05 p.m. ET in Allen, Texas. The best-of-seven series is tied 3-3.

Stingrays defenseman Marcus Perrier broke open the scoring 8:59 into the first period redirecting a shot from defenseman Wade Epp between the legs of Americans netminder Riley Gill (L, 27 saves on 31 shots). Forward Rob Bellamy picked up the second assist.

Forward Joe Devin gave the Stingrays a 2-0 lead at 11:47 of the second period catching a pass from forward Caleb Herbert and ripping a shot past Gill from the left-wing faceoff circle. Defenseman Drew MacKenzie added an assist. Defenseman Frankie Simonelli made it a three-goal advantage moments later, one-timing a feed from Herbert under Gill at 14:12. McKenzie earned his second assist of the game.

The Americans jumped on the scoreboard early in the third period as forward Vincent Arseneau tapped a rebound past Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (W, 30 saves on 31 shots) at 4:07, but the Stingrays sealed the victory with their first power-play goal of the series as Andrew Rowe found Devin for his second goal of the game at 18:15. Forward Derek DeBlois chipped in the second assist. The Stingrays finished the game 1-for-3 on the power play while the Americans went 0-for-3.

The Stingrays battle the Americans in Game 7 of the 2015 Kelly Cup Finals on Sunday, June 14 at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas at 5:05 ET p.m.
