
Stingrays Bring Back Gritty Defenseman Marcus Perrier

North Charleston, S.C. -The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, agreed to terms with defenseman Marcus Perrier, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.
"We are excited to have Marcus back for his second pro season in South Carolina," Carbery said. "His progress and development last season was impressive to watch as he climbed our depth chart through the season. His physical presence, ability to jump into the offensive rush and his drive to compete made him a big part of our defensive core last year."
Perrier, 24, led the Stingrays with 155 penalty minutes during his rookie campaign last season and added 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) and a plus-minus rating of +18 in 71 games. In the Kelly Cup Playoffs, the Thunder Bay, Ontario, native registered four goals and four assists for eight points in 24 contests and helped the Stingrays reached the Kelly Cup Finals for the fourth time in team history.
Prior to turning pro, Perrier skated three seasons with Bowling Green State University totaling 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 117 games.
