Sarnia Sting News Release

SARNIA, ON - The Sarnia Sting are pleased to announce that the Hockey Club and longstanding partner, RBC Royal Bank, have agreed to a two-year partnership, making RBC Royal Bank the official team presenting sponsor for the 2015-16 & 2016-17 Ontario Hockey League seasons.

RBC Royal Bank, who previously held the naming rights for the Sarnia Sports & Entertainment Centre, have always been strong supporters of the Sarnia Sting franchise. RBC's ongoing commitment to the local community, and their record of involvement in the hockey world, make them an excellent fit as the Club's presenting sponsor.

As part of partnership agreement, the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club and RBC Royal Bank are proud to introduce a new initiative that will give hockey teams in the Sarnia community an opportunity to have Sting players attend their practices. RBC - Sting Minor Hockey Mentorship program is an endeavor designed to support grassroots hockey and give young players the opportunity to meet their local role models. Teams can inquire about having players attend their practices by contacting the club through email via buzz@sarniasting.com.

Sarnia Sting President, Bill Abercrombie comments on today's announcement: "We are very excited about this partnership with RBC Royal Bank. For years they have been great supporters of the Club, and we couldn't ask for a better team presenting sponsor. The RBC brand is synonymous with hockey, both locally and across North America. We feel as though the addition of the 'RBC - Sting Minor Hockey Mentorship program' is a great way to give back to local minor hockey, and wouldn't have been possible without the support we've received from our friends at RBC Royal Bank."

"RBC is proud to support hockey in Sarnia," said Michael Caverly RBC Regional Vice President for Lambton Kent. "Our partnership with the Sarnia Sting gives us an exciting opportunity to bring the sport even closer to the fans and the local community through the 'RBC - Sting Minor Hockey Mentorship program' and our continued support of the free Family Day skate following the Sarnia Sting game on Monday, February 15th."
