Steve Fox Earns Pitcher of the Week Honors

New Jersey Jackals News Release
Jackals RHP Steve Fox has been named this week's Can-Am Pitcher of the Week.
He hadn't pitched for nine days, but Steve Fox nearly shutout the Rockland Boulders in a complete-game effort in game one of Thursday's doubleheader. He allowed an unearned run off a single hit - a Matt Nandin infield single off Fox's glove in the third inning.
He is 4-0 on the season with a 2.27 ERA, the lowest among Jackals starters and second-best among Can-Am starters. All four of Fox's wins have come after a Jackals loss. He pitches tonight against the Newark Bears. The Jackals lost 9-6 to the Quebec Capitales yesterday.
The Washington Township native is the fourth Jackal to earn Player of the Week Honors, the most among the Can-Am League. Danny Santiesteban, Isaac Pavlik, and Nick Giarraputo welcome the former Boston Red Sox farmhand to the club.
A converted reliever, Fox threw to an eerily similar 2.28 ERA in 41 games last season for New Jersey.
