Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

Rookie goaltender Larry Sterling stole a win for the Fort Worth Brahmas, stopping 42 of the 44 shots he faced in regulation and overtime and then all six shots he faced in a shootout as the Brahmas defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 3-2 in a shootout Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa. Center Nick Udovicic and left wing Chad Woollard scored in regulation for the Brahmas, and right wing Derrell Upton scored the game winning shootout goal for Fort Worth. The story of the game, however, for the Brahmas was Sterling. Making just his second professional start, Sterling was clearly the top player in the game. The first year pro from Lake Orion, Michigan made spectacular stop after spectacular stop to lead the Brahmas to the win. In the shootout, after Upton's goal had put the Brahmas ahead, Sterling denied Jacks captain Donnie Margettie to seal the win for Fort Worth. The victory for the Brahmas is their fifth in a row and improves their record to 8-2-1 on the season. Fort Worth will now travel on to Amarillo to face the Gorillas tomorrow night (Sat., Nov. 20) at 7:11 p.m. at the Amarillo Civic Center. The game will be broadcast live on KTFW 1460 AM with the pregame show beginning at 6:56 p.m.
