CHICAGO - Dubuque Fighting Saints forward Stephen Halliday has been named USHL Forward of the Week. Halliday's recognition by the league marks back-to-back weeks in which a Dubuque Fighting Saints player has been named Forward of the Week, as he follows his linemate, Connor Kurth.
Halliday scored two goals and three assists in the Saints' two games over the weekend. He had a hand in four of Dubuque's five goals against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday night (2 goals, 2 assists), and posted an assist on Saturday night against the Chicago Steel. His efforts continued a remarkable five-game point streak in which he has scored six goals and six assists, good for 12 points.
The Ohio State commit has continued his march in the history books of the Fighting Saints' Tier I history. Halliday has become one of seven Fighting Saints players since 2010 to score more than 100 points in their career. He is currently tied for fourth place with former teammate Riese Gaber with 105 points. He trails Ottawa Senators forward Dylan Gambrell by three points, and is 39 points back of the Tier I leader in points, Shane Sooth.
In 165 games across four seasons in the USHL, Halliday has scored 41 points and 98 assists, good for 139 points. His 19 points this season (8 goals, 11 assists) is second-most in the league, behind Chicago's Jackson Blake (7-14-21).
Halliday is the third Fighting Saint to be recognized by the league, along with Kurth, and forward Tristan Lemyre, who earned the honor on October 5.
