Fun Bus Hits Little Snag

The Hounds amazing start has one little blemish as Sunday they lost to Corpus Christi in a shootout. Tuesday night saw Youngstown go down two goals to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs only to comeback with three unanswered goals to give the Hounds a 5-4 win. Friday night was the Petr Pohl show in Wichita as the former Columbus Blue Jacket draft pick scored two goals and added two assists as the Hounds defeated the Thunder by a score of 4-1. Saturday night saw another dominating performance by the Hounds as they took out the Austin Ice Bats 5-2. Sunday afternoon the Corpus Christi Rayz put a halt to the winning streak as they came back after Youngstown took a 2-0 lead to force a shootout. The Rayz won the shootout 2-1 and win the game 3-2. The Hounds are now 7-0-1 (15 points) and are in first place in the Northeast Division.

What's On Tap: Three in Three in Texas

The longest road trip in league history will continue on Friday as the Hounds take on the Austin Ice Bats at 8:35. Saturday the Hounds will play the Laredo Bucks at 8:30. Laredo the last remaining undefeated team in the CHL. Sunday afternoon it is a 5:05 start against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Friday and Saturday's games will be on WSOM AM 600. Sunday's game be back on ESPN Radio 1240. All SteelHounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240.

Przepiorka for "Prze-i-dent!"

Second year center Eric Przepiorka has been lighting up the scoreboard for the Hounds as he now leads the team in points with 11. The native of Grosse Point Woods, Michigan is currently on a four game point streak scoring three goals and five assists in that time. Przepiorka came to the Hounds after playing against them in an exhibition game as a member of the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs.

Hitting and Winning

The 7-0-1 Hounds are quickly picking up a reputation as one of the more physical teams in the league. The Hounds lead the league in total penalty minutes with 358, penalty minutes per game at 44.75 and they have the league leader in penalty minutes as Milan Maslonka has 73. The Hounds penalties have not hurt them on the scoreboard as they have outscored opponents 29-18 in their first eight games.
