Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Announced

November 5, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 4th, 2007 are forward Dominic Osman of the New Mexico Scorpions and goaltender David Cacciola of the Texas Brahmas.

Osman led the Scorpions to a 2-1 record this past week and was the catalyst in the team's 10-0 victory on Saturday night versus the Northwest Division leading Rocky Mountain Rage. In the lopsided victory, the rookie had three goals and an assist and was a +5 (best plus/minus in a single CHL game this season). Earlier in the week, the Dearborn, Michigan native posted two goals and an assist versus Odessa. The former Lake Superior State University player has seven goals and three assists on the season leading the Scorpions in goals and ranking second in points. New Mexico has won back-to-back games and are 3-4-1 on the season.

Cacciola went 3-0 this past week stopping 71 of 76 shots faced, a .934 save percentage. The Burlington, Massachusetts native has allowed two or fewer goals in four straight games and has the Texas Brahmas off to one of the best starts in the CHL at 6-1-0. More impressively for the goaltender is his 4-0 road record. On the season, Cacciola has played in every game for the Brahmas going 6-1-0 with a 2.57 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. The former Providence College netminder is in his third professional season playing with Bossier-Shreveport and New Mexico before becoming a Brahma. In his CHL career, Cacciola is a remarkable 45-11-7.

In recognition of their achievements, both Osman and Cacciola will receive a special gift from Oakley.
