Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

Fort Worth - The Youngstown Steelhounds received goals from five different players and a 21 save performance from goaltender David St. Germain en route to a 5-0 shutout win over the Fort Worth Brahmas on Tuesday night at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Steelhounds left wing Jeff Christian paced the Youngstown offensive attack with one goal and two assists. Youngstown winger Jonathan Gagnon chipped in with a goal and an assist. Also scoring in the game for the Steelhounds were right wing Scott Barnes, left wing Shawn Mamane, and center Chris Richards.

The balanced scoring provided more than enough offense for Youngstown netminder David St. Germain. Germain, a fifth-year pro from Brossard, Quebec, stopped all 21 Fort Worth shots he faced in the game to record his first shutout (and sixth win) of the year.

Goaltender Larry Sterling took the loss in net for Fort Worth, allowing the five Youngstown goals on the 33 shots he faced.

The loss for the Brahmas, their fourth in a row and eleventh in their last thirteen games, drops the club's record to 8-12-2 on the season. With the win, the Steelhounds snapped a two-game losing skid of their own and moved into sole possesion of first place in the CHL's Northeast Division.

Fort Worth will now turn their attention to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The Brahmas will travel to the Century-Tel Center in Bossier City for a pair of critical divisional games against the Mudbugs this weekend on Friday, Dec. 16 and Saturday, Dec. 17. Both games, which start at 7:05 p.m., will be broadcast by the Brahmas on KHFX Fox Sports 1460 AM. For additional information, please contact the Brahmas team office at (817) 336-4423.
