Boise, ID - John Lammers scored the game's only goal late in the second period and Kellen Briggs stopped 25 shots to help the Steelheads top the Thunder 1-0 in front of 4,212 fans at Qwest Arena on Wednesday night.

The Steelheads (35-22-9), who lost five of their previous six games before their recent eight-day layoff, now have 19 home wins, three of which have come against the Thunder (25-35-3).

There was no scoring in the first period and the shots were even at 10 apiece.

John Lammers gave the Steelheads a 1-0 advantage through 40 minutes of play, tallying a power play goal with 2:45 left before intermission. Aaron Gagnon, in his first game with the Steelheads since January 18, and Darrell Hay picked up the helpers on Lammers' 26th marker in 30 games this season. On the eventual game-winner, Hay's point shot sailed wide but kicked off the end boards and free for Gagnon who slipped it over to Lammers and he was able to slide the puck past Thunder goaltender Glenn Fisher (31 saves).

After two periods the shots favored the Steelheads 25-18.

Briggs locked down his third shutout of the season in the final period, stopping six shots to pick up his 16th win. Meanwhile, Fisher took the loss to drop to 13-17-1. The final shots favored the Steelheads 32-25, as the home team went one-for-seven on the power play and nine-for-nine on the penalty kill.

The Steelheads continue their "Pink In The Rink" home series with the Thunder on Friday, March 21. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m. MST.
