Brampton Steelheads News Release
MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads, in partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, are set to host their Annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Sunday, December 10th at 4 p.m., when the Niagara IceDogs visit the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. Now in its eleventh season, the Teddy Bear Toss supports Jumpstart and their mission to help kids in need participate in sport and play. Since 2005, Jumpstart has helped more than 3.5 million kids across Canada. Tickets for the game can be purchased.
Since partnering for the Teddy Bear Toss game, the Mississauga Steelheads and their fans have raised more than $10,000 for Jumpstart, helping the organization's commitment to providing kids with access to sport and recreation in their community. Proceeds from this year's Annual Teddy Toss game will once again support Jumpstart. Plus, teddy bears will be collected by BCG Peel in support of their holiday gift program.
"As community leaders both on and off the ice, we are excited to once again partner with the Mississauga Steelheads for the Annual Teddy Bear Toss," said Heini Davies, Jumpstart Regional Manager, GTA. "The Steelhead organization and passionate fanbase have always been tremendous supporters of Jumpstart, and we look forward to continuing to work together to get kids off the sidelines and into the game."

When the Steelheads score their first goal of the game, fans can toss the stuffed animals onto the ice for collection. All the stuffed toys collected from the ice and all the funds raised from teddy bear sales at the game will be donated to Jumpstart.
Executive Director of Boys and Girls Club of Peel Michael J. Gyovai spoke about the event and its impact. "BGC Peel, our staff and children, youth, and families we serve continue to be blessed with the long-standing partnership with the Mississauga Steelheads, Jumpstart and the City of Mississauga. It is because of partnerships like these, we have been able to provide essential and quality services and programs, just like our Annual Holiday Hamper, for the past 40 years."
The Teddy Bear Toss game is one of many Steelheads' Winning Nights, an initiative that allows fans to redeem their ticket at the box office for a free ticket to a predetermined redemption game. If the Steelheads secure two points against the Knights, fans in attendance will receive a complimentary ticket for the game on Sunday, December 17th, at 2 p.m., when the Steelheads face off against the Ottawa 67's.
Additionally, fans can take advantage of the Steelheads' Holiday Pack for the Teddy Bear Toss game, where they can purchase four tickets and receive four toques for just $125 all in.
