Steel Announce Return of Chicago Blackhawks Night Featuring Hall of Famer Denis Savard

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Hockey Hall of Famer, Stanley Cup champion and one of four Chicago Blackhawks to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career, Denis Savard will join the Chicago Steel for the team's sixth annual Chicago Blackhawks Night presented by River Front Chrysler Jeep Dodge & Ram on Saturday, February 19 against Team USA (U17) at 7:05 pm CT at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

Savard will perform the ceremonial puck drop and will sign autographs during the game.

Steel fans will have a chance to win prizes including two tickets plus an intermission Zamboni ride for the Blackhawks March 8 game vs. Anaheim, two tickets plus a chance to play "Shoot the Puck" during intermission of the Blackhawks March 15 game vs. Boston, and a separate prize of four tickets to the March 15 game. All prizes are provided are courtesy of the Chicago Blackhawks.

"Having a legend like Denis Savard in the building for the matchup between the Steel and Team USA makes it all the more special."

Originally from Pointe Gatineau, Quebec, Savard was selected in the first round (#3 Overall) of the 1980 NHL Draft before playing in the NHL from 1980-1997 for the Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning. Of his 1,196 career games in the league, 881 were with Chicago where the forward registered 1,096 points (377G, 719A).

Known for popularizing his 'Savardian Spin-O-Rama', Savard officially retired from the NHL on June 26, 1997 and had his number 18 retired by the Chicago Blackhawks organization on March 19, 1998. Savard was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 13, 2000 and was named one of hockey's 100 Greatest Players in 2017.

Chicago Blackhawks alumni that have appeared as special guests for the event include Daniel Carcillo (2016), Jamal Mayers (2017), Ben Eager (2018), Brandon Bollig (2019) and Bryan Bickell (2020).

Tickets to Chicago Blackhawks Night start at just $10 and are available in person at the Steel Box Office at Fox Valley Ice Arena, by phone at 855-51-STEEL and online at chicagosteelhockeyteam.com. The Steel offer single-game ticket discounts for kids 12 and under and military.

Chicago takes a road trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin on Friday, Jan. 4 for a 7:05 puck drop against the Green Bay Gamblers at Resch Center before two straight games at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Saturday, Feb. 5 and Sunday, Feb. 6 against the USHL-leading Tri-City Storm. Wiener Dog Races headline Saturday's showdown at 7:05 pm CT while Sunday is a 3:05 pm CT puck drop for Rusty's Birthday Celebration and a Steel Family Pack Game with a special ticket deal featuring 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 chips, 4 sodas/waters and 4 chuck-a-pucks for just $50.
